Featured Authors and Artist
Ann Calandro is a medical editor, mixed media collage artist, and classical piano student. Her poems, short stories, and artwork have been published in various print and online venues.
Carley Gomez is a Cuban-American writer pursuing her Ph.D. in fiction at the University of Missouri, where she is a Gus T. Ridgel Fellow. She has an MFA in writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her fiction can be found in Passages North and Mid-American Review, and is forthcoming in Lake Effect and Storm Cellar. In 2018, she won a Margery McKinney Short Fiction Award judged by Anne Valente.
Lauren Mauldin is an MFA candidate in creative nonfiction at the University of California Riverside, and editor for The Plaid Horse magazine. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Modern Loss, and the Los Angeles Review of Books among other publications. She has recently finished her first book, Animalistic, a memoir about losing her husband to opioid addiction.
Joshua Sassoon Orol is a trans Jewish poet from Raleigh, NC, writing with the texts, tunes, and stories passed down from their mixed heritage family. Joshua completed an MFA at NC State University, and received an Academy of American Poets prize while at UNC Chapel Hill. Their poetry can be read in recent or forthcoming issues of Driftwood Press, Nimrod, Santa Ana River Review, and Storm Cellar.

Perrin Duncan is an abstract painter from Edmond, Oklahoma. She graduated from DePauw University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Studio Art. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Ireland. She is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at the Burren College of Art in County Clare, Ireland.

Fierce Sonia is a mixed media artist. She builds layers with acrylic paint and collage. A narrative is constructed by the tension between the lush layers moving to dreamy feminine mindscapes with a brighter palette. If you listen closely her work has a soundtrack, a rhythm, a pulse that will give you a magic carpet ride to a fairytale that restates your own heartbeat.
