Andrea Lewicki is an award-winning abstract artist. Mostly self-taught and insulated from traditional art for most of her life, her studio practice involves more hardware store tools than artist brushes and relies on persistent curiosity. Lewicki alternates divergent and convergent processes to apply materials and remove them through hours of mechanical work. A former chemical engineer, she uses art to release decades of attachment to structure. Lewicki lives in Western Washington’s Snoqualmie Valley. Her work has been exhibited in several Seattle area galleries, but her favorite venues are beloved neighborhood coffee shops.
