Hillary Jones McCullough has experience in traditional and alternative darkroom processes, and her art, photography, and performance work often explore the human experience and the body’s interactions with the world. She is working on several photography and documentary projects, including The Birthmother Series, and her work has been exhibited widely in places like the PhotoPlace Gallery (Middlebury, VT), the Crescent Gallery (Scarborough, UK), the William Nancy Oliver Gallery (Tampa, FL), and the New England School of Photography (Boston, MA). Common themes in her work include an exploration of the human body (usually her own), memento mori, and finding beauty in the mundane or banal. She also uses self portraiture as a way to process trauma in a myriad of ways. Jones McCullough is an adjunct instructor at the University of North Florida where she teaches courses in digital photography. In addition, she also works as a photographer and as an assistant for a local music record label. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and reading.
