Jana LaChance has observed that she is “easily consumed looking at the ocean, tide, the stretch of natural fragments” and that “our physical selves, to me at least, don’t unerringly fit in this natural landscape, only partially.”  Her paintings explore this juxtaposition of self and sea using a combination of brilliant and subtle colors.
