ARTIST STATEMENT

The intention of these images is to reduce a photograph to its essence – the transmission of light – and to turn light itself into subject matter. All of these images were produced using sunlight transmitted through a prism. Transparent materials: pyrex glass rods, strips of window glass and industrial prisms were employed to give shape and form to the light.
